Toyota adds another 1.1 million cars to recall; see list of models affected. Wednesday Toyota added another 1.1 million vehicles to the recall list. Toyota has two separate recalls and both involve the gas pedal. The original recall started in November of 2009. Toyota does not know yet how to fix the problem, but wants drivers to be aware of the problem until they have the vehicles brought in for repair.

The gas pedal gets caught on the floor mat and the vehicle can accelerate out of control.

The following vehicles have been added to the Toyota recall: the 2008-2010 Highlander, 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Venza 2009-2010 Matrix, 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe.

Vehicles included in the original recall: the 2007-2010 Toyota Camry, 2005-2010 Avalon, 2004-2009 Prius, 2010 Tacoma, 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2007-2010 Lexus ES350, 2006-2010 and the 2006-2010 IS250 and IS350.

For information on the two separate Toyota recalls see the links on the left.

Tuesday, Toyota announced that they were halting the production of eight Toyota models. This creates an opportunity for other car dealerships.

"Every dog has its day," said Jerry Seiner, who owns several General Motors dealerships in Salt Lake City. "Maybe they'll take a second look at us instead of Toyota…when Toyota stumbles, it's our opportunity."
