Toy Story 3 casting announcement and extended run for Toy Story 1 and 2

In a surprise announcement on Facebook, late Monday evening, October 12, 2009, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich provided fans with news that the current 3-D Toy Story and Toy Story 2 double feature would have an extended theatrical run, beyond the original two-week limited release.

According to weekend box office figures provided by NCM, the double feature was in a strong fourth position, grossing $7.7 million from 1,752 screens nationwide, with a total two week take of $22.7 million.
