In the tiny hamlet of Jordan Township, by 7:00 PM on Tuesday, 248 people had already voted.
Town Cleark Billie Reynolds said she and her two poll workers had seen voters come through steady today. In the last mid-term elections, November 2006, 256 voted in the Town of Jordan. A number sure to be surpassed today.
Meanwhile, back in Monroe, the County seat, a twenty year old taking a break from college said she was voting in her hometown for the first time since turning 18. When I commented to her it was neat to see young people taking part in the governmental process, she quipped, "Yes, it is important!"
