Enjoy a most traditional, towering tiramisu at Amelia’s Café and Bakery in Durham, NC. This is quite a rich dessert with generous servings of mascarpone cheese topped by sweet cream. The bottom layer of the tiramisu is completely soaked in espresso syrup. The upper layer of lady fingers is moderately soaked providing a colorful feast for the eyes.

For a truly rich, crumbly and delicious experience, you must get their guava cookie. Two large, nutty cookies sandwich a gooey, strawberry-guava filling. Powdered sugar is sprinkled atop the cookie, the guava filling shining like a jewel poking through a pretty rock. This is a cookie fit for two and a welcome site at any party!

If you like coconut, Amelia’s Café and Bakery also has a coconut tres leches cake as well as coconut macaroons.

The bakery’s showcase is filled with many beautiful goodies to choose from: chocolate roulade, white and dark chocolate mousse, dulce de leche brownies, passion fruit and blueberry parfait, dark chocolate and raspberry tart, and an assortment of cookies.
