Tour the Getty Villa with your homeschooler

The Getty Villa is one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles. Located in Malibu, The Getty Villa is an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. While the main Getty museum is housed in art deco buildings, with a flavor of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Getty Villa is a modern representation of Greco-Roman architecture. This is the perfect place to study the age of mythology with art, design, and hands-on exhibits.

Although a reservation is required, the museum is free. You can go on your own, and participate in one of the many age-appropriate self-guided tours and educational activities. Or you can go with a group.

On Wednesday, January 20th, homeschoolers will be meeting for lunch and a tour of the museum. You must get a ticket, and meet the group at 11:30 to participate in this group activity.

If you cannot make it to this group outing, you can invite your friends, and set up a tour. Or, you can go on your own and experience the Villa independently.

For more information about the museum, go to the Getty Villa Website. For information on how to connect with the group on January 20th, contact Shari.
