“Tour de Natural Sports Enhancer”: New mouthpiece getting lots of attention

The Tour de France has just kicked off on British soil for the second time in its history.

Sure, as we all know there will be fanfares of sorts during the three week trek across the UK and France and of course at the finish line on Champs-Élysées in Paris.

However, while fanfares and excitement beacons, still there is a dark cloud that looms over the popular event that attracts notable competitors from around the world.

For years allegations of doping have plagued the Tour. In early years riders consumed alcohol and used ether to dull the pain. And over the years riders utilizing a variety of doping methods to enhance their performance have become more than a reality. The case involving Lance Armstrong, who was recently stripped of his seven consecutive Tour wins for doping offences, simply rocked the sports world.

“Over the years we have learned of so many talented athletes doping in order to enhance their performance,” says an insider working with the Tour de France. “It’s so sad really… These are athletes who are so influential and yet they will go to extreme measures to win the race. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has now imposed a strict crackdown and anyone caught doping will lose their win and will be banned from competing forever - it’s as simple as that.”

While the message is out that the UCI has zero tolerance for drug use in sport, professional road racing cyclists have gone back to the drawing board in order to rediscover natural ways in which they can improve their performance in this year’s Tour.

And while there are crowds lining up to get a glimpse of the action and while journalists and pundits alike are weighing in on who might win the ‘big one,’ a new small mouthpiece, believe it or not, is getting an unprecedented amount of attention in its own right.

You see, it’s called the New Age Performance Mouthpiece, and it is now the chatter at this year’s Tour.

“There have been a lot of people talking about this mouthpiece and it is being hailed as a new technological marvel not only for road racing cyclists, but for professional athletes in many other sports,” says Claire Mellor, a journalist and photographer who is covering the 2014 Tour de France.

She adds, “Everyone has learned that this new device aligns your jaw and it’s proven that when your jaw is aligned it has positive benefits on the body. While competitors involved in the Tour de France are hush-hush on how they train and perform, I have heard first hand that a number of them are using this device as it will help them tremendously during the painstaking journey from the UK to France.”

So, just who exactly is using the mouthpiece? Mellor states, “Following the Tour I am sure we will learn more on who has been using the device. In the meantime, when you watch the race in person or on TV, have a look to see who is sporting the device on their lower teeth – it’s not a hard thing to miss.”

Rob Charlton, co-owner of New Age Performance Inc. and the New Age Performance Mouthpiece, says he is thrilled that the device is being widely talked about at this year’s Tour de France.

“Our device is a proven natural sports enhancer and we are elated that our sport orthotic is being introduced at such a massive venue. In all, I am confident that competitors always want to achieve their best in a natural way and our mouthpiece is obviously a far better choice over using drugs in sport.”

Dr. Anil Makkar, a dentist and part of the New Age Performance team, indicates that the mouthpiece is based on the principals of neuromuscular dentistry.

“The device is placed on your lower jaw, placing it in its optimal position,” says Dr. Makkar. “Years of scientific research proves that when your jaw is aligned, it has positive benefits on the body.

Take the recent study by Rutgers University as an example. The esteemed institution via its sports and athletes research division have released a study on proper jaw alignment and concluded it has a beneficial impact on overall athletic performance.

One road racing cyclist says that he immediately noticed a big improvement with his performance with the mouthpiece.

“On my first ride I discovered my ability to rotate my neck and look over my shoulder increased,” he says.

Then his rides only got better.

“On my second ride I had much better speed and balance in getting out of the saddle, and my ability to ride longer, harder and recover faster was more than evident. Overall my speed, endurance, climbing efforts and recovery are all improved.”

He adds, “For the past four years I have been suffering from a herniated disk. Normally after a long ride or hard ride I feel discomfort in my lower back, with some pain running down my left leg. On a daily basis I also wake up with stiffness in my lower back. Over the past four weeks of increased intensities of app 20-30% I have not once had any soreness in my legs associated with fatigue, and I have not had any pain in my lower back or left leg after riding.”

“Believe me, I have been training at an improved level over the past four weeks and I am much stronger and faster. This mouthpiece really works.”

The New Age Performance Mouthpiece will be unveiling its upper device for athletes in contact sports, such as hockey, football, basketball and boxing this month.

The list of notables using the new device is impressive. They include: Andew “Cobra” Rhodes, star on AMC’s Game of Arms; Jill Bunny, CBBF Figure Champion, who owns Team Bunny: Fit Bunnies Fitness and who was the only Canadian to place in the Top 5 for the Bikini Class F Competition at the 2014 Arnold Sports Festival; Ania Anvaryfar of A2 Fitness Inc. who was crowned the second place winner in the World’s Top Figure Competition at the 2014 Arnold Sports Festival; and Peter Czerwinski, known as the popular ‘Furious Pete,’ who twice battled against anorexia and was hospitalized at the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital and recovered through bodybuilding.

There are also thousands of athletes in all sports biting on this new technology.
