The 2013 Tour de Cure is a cycling event promoting diabetes awareness and raising funds for through the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Cyclists of all abilities are encouraged to participate in the event, which is scheduled for 8 June.
The regular registration fee is $15 per rider. Through today however, riders can register under the 2 for 1 promotion. That means riders can register for just $7.50 today, 21 February. To register online at www.diabetes.org/centralpatourdecure, and use Promo: VALENTINE (all caps).
The event will start at the Grantville Fire Company Fairgrounds. Riders may choose from 100k, 50K, 25k or a 6.5k family ride. There is also a Spin-a-thon planned. The fundraising goal this year is $235,000. According to the ADA’s website, over $13,000 has been raised already by the currently registered 141 riders.
