In case you're not hip to the beauty and wonder of Florida's Total Punk label, here's the scoop: In a fairly brief period of time, the irreverent platter purveyor has built a strong reputation as one of the best new labels on the block. You won't hear any snooze-inducing retro '60s garage crossover acts, or peppy pop punk acts, or lame half-punk half-indie rock acts. No, by God. As the moniker suggests, what you'll hear, folks, is Total Punk. Mean, pee-stained, sweat-stinking, funny, pissed-off, rough-hewn music from bands like GG King, Live Fast Die, the immortal Action Swingers (which is about as old timey as Total Punk has gotten), Life Stinks...the list goes on and on. There's a fierce purity of purpose in everything the label has released so far, and that's likely to continue to be the case with its newest three seven-inch releases: Gino & The Goons "Troubled," Buck Biloxi and the F**ks "Holodeck Survivor," and Cheap Time's "Goodbye Age."
But best of all, right this minute, if you click on over to Florida's Dying (the label's retail arm) and order all three new singles, you'll automatically be registered to win a test pressing of one of the wreckords in question.
In the label's own words: "Just be one of the first 75 people to place an order for all three singles and you are eligible. Winners will be picked at random, and will receive a test press of one of the three new Total Punk singles. Only those who order ALL THREE singles will be eligible, and the test press will come in addition to regular editions of all three singles. The test press will come in a special “Total Punk Test Press” stamped sleeve. Winners please post a picture of yourself with your Total Punk Test Press so we can post all three winners on the site."
So what are you waiting for?
