A Virginia woman owes her incredible 145-pound weight loss to a coupon, CNN reported.

Torrie Creamer had struggled with weight her entire life and gave up trying to lose weight until a Living Social coupon arrived in the mail in 2011. The coupon offered her four weeks of boot-camp workouts for just $25.

Creamer immediately used the coupon to kick-start a workout regimen that has led to an astonishing 145-pound weight loss over the past two and a half years.

The 5-foot-11 Torrie, who once tipped the scales at 322 pounds, now weighs a fit 175 pounds and has never looked or felt better.

The mother of three said she left the first boot-camp workout in tears, but continued to go every day for four weeks, and promptly lost 15 pounds.

"I was always the last runner in, or in my case, the last walker in," she said. "I could not do push-ups. I could not finish a routine without feeling like I was dying and about to vomit. But somehow I made it there."

The boot-camp workouts were led by fitness trainer Ken Williams and involved running on the beach, body-weight exercises, and high-intensity interval training.

After four weeks had expired, Creamer abruptly got laid off from her job and told Williams she would no longer be able to take the exercise classes.

In a touching display of generosity, several of Torrie's new friends from boot camp banded together and paid her fees. The kind gesture moved Creamer deeply.

"I sat on my porch thinking to myself, 'These people don't know me,' " she said. "At that moment I made the promise to myself: If these people were not letting me fail, then how can I let myself fail?'"

Creamer then continued to show up for boot camp classes every day for the next 12 weeks, and lost even more weight. In the process, she also overhauled her diet and began following a low-carb, high-protein diet consisting of the following meals:

  • Breakfast: Protein shake with oatmeal
  • Morning snack: Mixed nuts
  • Lunch: Turkey salad sandwich
  • Afternoon snack:Yogurt with fruit
  • Dinner: Chicken with vegetables
  • Evening snack: Protein shake.

Looking back, Torrie is proud of her progress, and hopes her story can be an inspiration to others who feel hopeless. She now encourages other overweight women to embrace diet and exercise.

"I feel like this is what I truly was put here to do, and it [took] hitting rock-bottom before I could understand that," she said. "If I can do it, so can you."
