Too warm to go outside?  Then perhaps staying indoors and playing some new games is a preferable way to pass the time during these hot summer days.  But, what to get?  That is the question, and one which the combined forces of EB Games/GameStop, Zellers, Toys R Us, Future Shop, and Best Buy can answer.

Beginning with EB Games/GameStop, they continue to push pre-orders for StarCraft II with the free hats/mousepads and the opportunity to win an Alienware PC.  July 27th isn't very far away, so act now if you're interested, but haven't already done so.

Crackdown 2 on the Xbox 360 still has the four exclusive sets of Agency Issued Armor (online only), and Arc Rise Fantasia for the Wii will still provide a free game cell if you pre-order before July 20th.  But new to the realm of online-exclusive GameStop bonuses is Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable for the PlayStation Portable; purchase that for $44.99, and you'll get a free Junpei baseball cap.

The 50 percent-off Game Days Sale continues, with EA Sports NHL 10, Mass Effect 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 highlighted, and all $10 off.  Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is also shown, but gets $20 off.  All of the above-listed titles are $29.99, except Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is $54.99.

And the last item of note from GameStop is a pre-order for August 24th's Mafia II.  Doing so will net you two GameStop-exclusive packs of downloadable content.  And if you get the limited edition, you'll get "more exclusive assets."

Over at Zellers, there is a Nintendo DS Lite bundle with Glory of Heracles for $149.99, a savings of $20.  They also have an easy-to-miss 10 percent off special on "family gaming software," which includes Avatar: The Video Game for Xbox 360, Toy Story 3, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, and Wii Play for Wii, which normally range from $17.99 to $53.99.

As an aside, there is a notice which states that the $50 minimum purchase stipulation for the $10 savings cards which they offered with the purchase of Avatar on Blu-ray and DVD.  Not strictly a video game deal, but it could no doubt be used for them.

Toys R Us is offering a $10 gift card with the purchase of a $179.99 Nintendo DSi or a $199.99 DSi XL system, and $5 off the following DS titles: Zhu Zhu Pets (which brings it down to $34.99), Transformers: War for Cybertron: Decepticons ($29.99), How to Train Your Dragon ($29.99), Club Penguin: Herbert's Revenge ($29.99), Bakugan Battle Trainer ($24.99), and Shrek Forever After: The Game ($29.99).

Wii owners can also save up to $10 off the following fitness titles: The Biggest Loser ($19.97, regularly $29.99), Just Dance ($34.97, reg. $39.99), Wii Fit Plus (game only; $14.97, reg. $19.99), Your Shape Featuring Jenny McCarthy ($34.97, reg. $39.99), and EA Active ($59.97, reg. $64.99).

In addition, the Toys R Us specials mentioned last week are still in effect until the 22nd.

Moving on to Future Shop, the front page boasts the God of War III/DualShock 3 controller bundle for $79.99, a savings of $35.  Further in, they make their own attempt to appeal to the fitness crowd with the EA Sports Active: More Workout bundle for the Wii, which is $19.99 after a $25 discount.

If you would rather move to the music than feel the burn, then good news: their entire line of Hero kits and software are on sale now.  Band Hero for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is $149.99 ($20 off), DJ Hero for 360, PS3, and Wii is $79.99 ($20 off), and Guitar Hero World Tour for the PS3 is (game only) is $29.99 ($10 off).  And that's just the tip of the iceberg; check out their full feature sale page of titles and accessories not in their flier here.

For StarCraft II on the PC, Future Shop will be open at 12:01am on July 27th for people to get their copies early.  Pre-order, and you'll get a free hat and limited edition poster.

Finally, we come to Best Buy.  They have the original StarCraft going for $14.99 ($10 off) as they invite you to "relive the memories" before the sequel arrives.  If WarCraft is more your thing, then World of WarCraft is $24.99, which seems to be its regular price, but you'll get a free Burning Crusades expansion pack with it (no value given).

Elsewhere, there are Reward Zone points aplenty when you buy new video game hardware.  The $169.99 PlayStation Portable 3000 Core System will yield 4,000 (a $50 value), while a $299.99 PlayStation 3, the new, slimmer $299.99 Xbox 360, and the $209.99 Wii console (which comes with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and the Wii MotionPlus) each get 2,000 (valued at $25).

In terms of games, there is a nifty deal for PlayStation 3 owners who are curious as to what this "God of War" thing is all about.  Buy God of War III for $59.99, and you'll get God of War Collection, a $30 value which features the remastered God of War and God of War II, for free.

Also on the PS3 is MLB 10: The Show, which is now $39.99 after a $20 price drop.

On the PSP, if you purchase one of the following $19.99 Greatest Hits titles, you'll get Pixel Junk Monsters, a $7 value, for free.  The games shown are LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo, God of War: Chains of Olympus (mistakenly labeled as God of War III), and Resistance: Retribution.

Deals for the Xbox 360 include Splinter Cell: Conviction for $39.99 ($20 off), BioShock 2 for $29.99 ($10 off), and Halo 3: ODST for $19.99 ($20 off).

And on the Nintendo DS and Wii?  Not a single thing.  Can you believe it?

That wraps up another week of Toronto's video game deals.  You can look at the fliers yourself in the slideshow below (save for Toys R Us), or click on their respective links above.
