Toronto Internation Film Fest Preview: "Bang Bang Baby" Blends Mutations, Music

The annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) serves as the kickoff for awards season. Films debuting at TIFF typically generate enough buzz to carry them through to the Golden Globes and Academy Award nominations.

This year, writer/director Jeffrey St. Jules will have the world premiere for “Bang Bang Baby” in Toronto. This science fiction musical focuses on Stepphy (Jane Levy), a small town dreamer who wants bigger things out of life.

As shown in the clip above, Stepphy’s dreams run afoul of an ominous purple mist that’s sweeping the town. Along the way, there's singing, dancing, and some manic mutations.
