Yesterday, twelve dogs that survived a series of deadly tornadoes in North Dallas were transferred to the SPCA of Texas in McKinney. The SPCA also extended an offer of help to other groups affected by the storms and are standing by to go back again.
"The SPCA will offer support by providing for the care and placement f these animals, who were already waiting to find new homes at the time of the transfer," said a spokesperson Thursday. "We are asking the community to come forward and open their homes and their hearts to these animals."
According to CBS Local News, six people have been confirmed dead and many more are still missing after what appears to be three separate tornado funnels slammed into areas north of the city.
Many agencies have been called in to offer assistance to the communities reeling in the aftermath.
