2004 Olympic champion Paul Hamm announced through his agent Monday night that he has a torn labrum in his shoulder and may miss much of the 2011 competitive season.
On the bright side, at least this didn't happen the week before the Olympic Games like his last injury.
Hamm reiterated that although he is disappointed not to be able to compete at next month's Winter Cup, the 2012 Olympics remain his main goal.
I have to be optimistic," Hamm said in his statement, "and remember that I am still on track to be fully prepared for 2012."
