The extremely popular multiplayer medieval melee game, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, has proven that indie multiplayer combat games can compete right up there with the big publishers. Now they are taking the next big step in the business of making games, licensing a TV show.
In a partnership with Spike TV’s video game division 345 Games, Chivalry developer/publisher Torn Banner Studios will be bringing the glorious violence of the cable series Deadliest Warrior, into the first-person combat of Chivalry. Instead of creating an all-new game, Torn Banner will be using the fact-based fighters into an upcoming expansion aptly titled Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior.
With the exception of a short video on their teaser website, the full preview of Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior will be revealed at PAX Prime video game convention from Aug. 30th to Sep. 2nd in Seattle. There, attendees can make their way to booth #3636 for an exclusive first look demo of the expansion. Torn Banner promises “The extensive demo will present in-depth game play with the first two announced warriors—the notorious Spartan and Samurai.”
A beta version will be made available “soon” for players to check out the five new warriors and environments from the Deadliest Warrior TV series, with the full expansion releasing in the fall.
As broken down in the press release, the expansion will also feature game modes such as Mixed Team Death Match, Faction Battle, Warrior Duel, Free for All, and Custom Battles which are "Server side options allowing you to create custom battles with any number of teams and any number of factions or mixed teams allowed."
More information and sneak peak trailer are available at the official Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior teaser site.
