On March 1, 2013, Tori Spelling wrote a letter on her blog to Star Magazine. The TV star was upset about what her little boy Liam, 5, who is learning to read, saw as they stood in line at the grocery store. Liam saw his family with the word "divorce" on the front cover of the magazine. The caption above the picture was "who will get the kids?", which little Liam was able to read.
"Why is someone getting us?? Where are you and Dad going?" asked Liam when they all got in the car. Tori responded: "That magazine doesn't know us. Daddy and I are very happy and in love. There will be no divorce and all of us will remain together as a family".
Tori decided to write a blog post to Star Magazine on her blog called ediTORIAL. She expressed her disappointment that Star Magazine and other magazines choose to write stories that are not true or verified. She was happy that her son could not read the inside of the magazine because the article made "horrific claims" about Tori's husband Dean. She told the tabloid in her blog post that if the writers want a story to write about her, but lay off her husband and kids.
Tori ended her blog post saying that "our children should never have to bear witness to lies and fabrications that affect their lives so that a media outlet can make money".
