Tori Spelling's husband Dean McDermott got her a precious present over the holidays. People Magazine reported on Jan. 8 that Spelling received a jade and gold push present. The ring is McDermott's present to his wife for having Finn, their youngest of four children.
Finn is the couple's “miracle baby” since Spelling had placenta previa during her pregnancy. Not only did she have this condition that causes the placenta to cover the cervix, she had the most severe form of it. The outcome could have been deadly since immense bleeding could have resulted. This would have left doctors with no choice but to terminate the pregnancy in an effort to save her life.
Finn was born in August, but McDermott was busy finding the perfect push present. Neil Lane designed the couple's wedding bands and said,
“I got a call from Dean and he said he was really late but he wanted to get Tori a very special push present to celebrate the birth of baby Finn. He wanted something pretty, but different. He really cares and said he’d been thinking about it for a long time.”
McDermott passed up numerous options including a rare amethyst ring. Instead, he chose an antique ring that was obtained from China in the 1920s. It is a 10-karat gold ring with a cabochon-cut jade stone. It also has ornamental artwork with original Chinese Characteristics. Lane said,
“Tori loves green, she loves perfectly rounded stones like this one... Dean adores her and he looks at jewelry as a connection to the relationship [to mark] milestones in their life. The ring was a token of his love, affection and appreciation of their love and this new baby.”
