Topnotch Resort & Spa is where Ann Taylor boots "fall" in

Fall weather in New England is anything but consistent. We can enjoy Indian summer days, such as today, with temperatures in the 60s, or it can be chilly and raw outside.

Right before I headed to Stowe, Vermont, to the ultra-luxurious Topnotch Resort & Spa, I packed my new Beckett Leather Ann Taylor riding boots ($248) that are chic enough for the luxury resort yet rugged enough for the great outdoors of Vermont. Each night, I zipped up my stylish footwear, once tucked into my Ann Taylor (yes, I love shopping here and had a lot of fun at the personal shopper event) half leather/half polyester black pants, and the next evening with black tights and a new dress I purchased at Urban Outfitters while shopping with my two nieces (a more appropriate store for teens and 20-somethings).

These boots are made to last forever, and I'll probably have them for the rest of my life. I do wish I had ordered my true size, however. I ordered a half size larger, thinking winter socks and all ... but they are really true to size and factor in the socks, apparently.

And even on warm nights, I can still wear them with a sleeveless shirt and jeans -- hey, it is fall, right? It just doesn't seem comfortable to wear open toe anything until next spring. So, now that I have my staple pair of boots for the season, I'm ready to see what else Ann Taylor offers in footwear, and wouldn't you know, Vince Camuto partnered up with Ann Taylor to offer more of a selection that includes shooties, my week-to-weekend riding boots, kitten height heels, ballet flats that you would swear look like Chanel, and so much more in the collection.
