A Missouri mother has been charged with child endangerment after a topless photo of her and her teenage daughter circulated around two high schools through social media, according to the Huffington Post on Friday.
The photo is of a 50-year-old mother and her 14-year-old daughter in a hot tub. It was reportedly taken by a younger daughter as the mom and 14-year-old were covered their nipples with their hands while letting the rest of their chests be seen. Yet, the mother argued that she wasn’t posing and claims she was getting out of the hot tub. Authorities argued that it definitely looked like the two were posing and misdemeanor charges were filed.
Even though the mother claims she told her daughter to delete the photo, it was distributed via Snapchat which is a smartphone app that deletes pics after a recipient has had just a few seconds to take a peek.
The incident was also embarrassing for the woman’s son who attends one of the schools where the pic was reportedly seen. As one can imagine, he was mocked for his mom and sister’s topless photo.
For the record, last year, the 14-year-old daughter had to take counseling after she distributed naked photos of herself at school.
Perhaps another round of the counseling could be a family activity for the females in the family?
The mother’s name has been withheld by authorities for the privacy of the teenager.
