The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is an annual celebration of all things green and growing. Colorful flower beds spring up around the park, and guests get a chance to attend seminars and even hear from HGTV celebrities on what it takes to get their gardens to grow. They see ideas for creating their outdoor space, and they can buy a variety of garden decorations. Kids love the playgrounds and butterfly house.
The festival also has its popular Flower Power concert series, with bands from the 1960s and 1970s, and food booths have joined the offerings for 2013. But with all these sights and activities, there's one thing that remains the star attraction at each year's event: the topiaries.
Click the slideshow at the top of this article to see some of this year's detailed and colorful offerings. Mickey Mouse and his friends are on hand, of course, and you'll also find Disney Princesses, characters from "The Lion King," "Peter Pan," "Lady and the Tramp,"and other memorable movies. Pixar pals include Mike, Sully, Lotso, Lighting McQueen, and more. Even the Disney Channel is represented with Phineas and Ferb (look closely and you'll notice Perry, too).
The topiaries are scattered all around the park, in both Future World and World Showcase, so it's fun to go on a scavenger hunt and find them all. If you plan to dine while you're at the festival, pick up a free passport and use that for a culinary quest, too.
You have plenty of time to get over to Epcot for the festival, as it runs through May 19.
