The post cards have been mailed, coupons are available at local area shops, and it is nearly time for the event many people look forward to twice a year. That's right, it is time for the Topeka Spirit-Mind-Body Fair.
This fair is always filled with amazing products and services, healthy snacks, informative free seminars, and of course highly skilled people offering their expert advice on how to get the most from their wares.
Whether you are a fan of the spiritual, metaphysical, holistic, or paranormal you are sure to find something that interests you. There are so many booths to explore you may want to bring family or a friend and make an afternoon of it.
Healers will offer anything from tinctures and lotions to massage and chakra balancing. You can find herbal teas, herbal resins, smudges, and a variety of health and beauty products, as well.
Many have said that visiting the fair is like stepping into an alternate universe consisting of peace, light, healing, and love. “I love the spirit fair because I can walk in there and no matter how stressed out I am, I relax because of the atmosphere,” said Kathy Wainscott, Lawrence area resident and avid fair visitor.
Readers offer various types of psychic readings such as Tarot, past life, and Spirit Communication. You can also find a number of intuitive artists that offer items such as personal portraits along with their reading.
“I always try to get my aura photo when I visit the fair. I stick them on my wall at home and compare them to other visits. I wish I would have put the dates on them and kept them in order. I can see how for the last two or three years my aura has been pretty much the same and in the beginning it was more chaotic. I think the fairs have mellowed me out over the years,” says Paul Rockers, Lawrence resident and dedicated fair visitor. You can get a free aura photo when you purchase an Aura Reading from the Aura Star booth.
Janice Thompson, a Eudora resident said, “My favorite part of the spirit fair is smelling the different scents,” as she recalls the numerous booths of candles, incense, and essential oils of previous fairs.
While you are there make sure you visit any of the many gemstone booths. You are sure to find at least one stone you will want to add to your collection. Do not be afraid to ask these vendors about the stones and the best way to use them, they know their stuff.
To finish off the afternoon you can check out some local jewelry vendors and their selection of beautiful pieces to give as a gift to someone you love or yourself.
