Top Winter Restaurant Picks from Gilt City Boston

Don’t hide indoors just because the temperatures are low these days. There are too many places to dine and drink in Boston to get out and enjoy. Gilt City Boston Senior Curator Brehon Garcia Dale has shared recommendations for the best restaurants in the area to visit this winter. Check them out (in her own words) below and also visit www.giltcity.com/boston to sign up for unique experiences including discounts on spas, restaurants, classes, fitness programs, and much more:

Recommendations:
ERBALUCE

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at Erbaluce. Chef Chuck Draghi is magical, and one of my favorite indulgences at Erbaluce is the Chef’s Cheese Plate. It’s hand-selected, always varies, and you are bound to indulge in some type of cheese or honey that will leave you craving more. Grab a seat at the bar, order the cheese plate and whatever wine is recommended – it’s the perfect start to any night this winter.

TABERNA DE HARO

When I go to Taberna de Haro on a cold night I never want to leave. It’s cozy, romantic and really feels like you are in Spain. My favorite dishes are the Patatas bravas, Gambas al ajillo, and Jamón Serrano. They also have an extensive wine list to pair with your tapa selections.

TREMONT 647
http://www.tremont647.com/
There is nothing like Andy Husbands weekend pajama brunch on a cold winter day. I’d suggest the Huevos Rancheros or the Shrimp and Grits.

HUNGRY MOTHER
http://www.hungrymothercambridge.com/
This is another spot that warms you up and makes it hard to leave with its soft lightings, small tables, southern hospitality and outrageously good food. If you haven’t been before, I’d recommend the friend chicken or the catfish. And you can’t go wrong with any of their craft cocktails.

SWEET CHEEKS
http://www.sweetcheeksq.com/
Another southern favorite, Sweet Cheeks has great energy and fantastic food. No matter what you do, make sure to order the biscuits. They are other-worldly. My favorite entrée is the brisket and I always try out a new beer to wash it all down with; a great stand-by to warm you up.

TEATRO
http://www.teatroboston.com/
Another great spot to sit down and settle in for the night. Great vibe, the best service and exceptional Italian cuisine. I always start with one of my favorite cocktails in the city – the Hot Tub. After that, I’d suggest any of the pizzas as an appetizer. As for entrees, my favorites are the mustard glazed salmon and the seared scallops.

ASANA
http://www.mandarinoriental.com/boston/fine-dining/asana/
In yoga, “Asana” is the relaxed seated position, and this restaurant fits this description perfectly. To get a break from the cold this winter, I highly recommend taking a seat at Asana where you'll be welcomed with cuisine composed of local produce with modern twists. Located at the Mandarin Oriental Boston, Gilt City Boston has an offer running one week from today (on January 14th), for you to try out one of the dishes on the seasonal menu and cozy up this winter. Sign up today for Gilt City Boston so you can find out details about this deal and many more dining deals coming up this season!
