There's no shortage of music shows coming out of San Diego this weekend. Here's a look at some of the picks to click:
7 p.m. Friday at House of Blues; $26+
The LA-based pop-punkers celebrate the 10th anniversary of their most popular album, Ocean Avenue, with an acoustic set at HOB. Thursday front man Geoff Rickly will play as well.
8:30 p.m. Friday at Belly Up Tavern; $16+
The ‘80s will never die as long as tribute outfits like the Spazmatics are around to revive their awesome glory. Whether or not you think that’s a good thing will go a long way toward your decision to hit the Belly Up on Friday night. The night includes DJ ManCat on the hi-fi and starts out with a happy hour set by classic rockers The Fabulous Pelicans.
8 p.m. Saturday at Sleep Train Ampitheatre
Yes, they may be a little poppier than most of us would like, but when Adam Levine and the boys sing hits like “Moves Like Jagger” and “This Love,” it sure is catchy. In case the pop level isn’t quite high enough for you, Kelly Clarkson opens.
Ghostly International Tour
8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Casbah; $13+
Phaelah, aka British DJ Matt Preston, leads a night of house beats and dubstep mania that also includes Night Moves, Beacon, Mystery Cave and Shigeto.
8:30 p.m. Sunday at Soda Bar; $16+
Get your end-of-weekend angst out with a little Brit metal with a dash of psychedelic guitar riffs. Openers Holy Grail, Lazerwulf and Ape Machine will do their best to get your blood boiling.
