The National Football League is entering week five and there are some great match ups involving probable playoff teams and teams on the rise. There are five unbeaten teams remaining after the week four games.
The Detroit Lions are rising and are coming off a big win over the Chicago Bears where Reggie Bush ran for 138 yards on just 18 carries. Green Bay hosts the Lions in a divisional battle at Lambeau Field; the Pack is coming off a bye week and are, perhaps, fresh though solely being the visiting team in this game makes the Lions' task daunting. Reggie Bush is a key since the Lions already had a great passing offense. Detroit scored 40 points last week against the usually stingy Bears defense.
The Seattle Seahawks head to Indianapolis to take on the 3-1 Colts. At 4-0 Seattle looks great, but this is their second long road trip in a row and, perhaps, they're ripe for a loss. The season is young though: look for a close game.
Kansas City is heading into Tennessee's country music palace to play the Titans and the Chiefs are still unbeaten and have the league's best scoring defense (41 points allowed.) Quarterback Alex Smith of the Chiefs is, perhaps, still an unknown quantity and you wonder if being the home team is enough advantage for the Titans to win. 41 points allowed got my attention: I think KC will win this road game.
Unbeaten New Orleans is heading to Soldier Field to play a Chicago Bears team that gave up 40 points last week to a Detroit Lions team led by former Saints running back Reggie Bush. The Saints are scoring 27 points/game and could score 40 on the Bears this week; this game is in Chicago. I expect a close and high scoring game.
The unbeaten Denver Broncos look amazing in the early going having scored over 44 points/game through four games; I don't think the home standing Dallas Cowboys can stop them even in their own house.
New England is unbeaten and have given up only 57 points through four games; the Cincinnati Bengals host the Pats in this game. The Bengals are a 2012-13 playoff team and will be tough for the Patriots. I look for a close and low scoring game that the Bengals will win. But I'll watch it anyway just to see for myself.
