Social media is the new frontier for job hunting for many. As many people flocked West to California in the Gold Rush, we should all be flocking to social media in our quest for new job opportunities and information. Twitter in particular is a great tool with information delivered straight to you. Think of Twitter as a broadcast TV station. For Example, a recruiter we'll call "Chicago Jobs" for easy sake, gets new job opportunities on a regular basis. He creates a Twitter tag @ChicagoJobs and broadcasts all new job opportunities as he gets them in. Anyone can sign up in Twitter and follow @ChicagoJobs and start receiving all his job opportunities as tweets. It's as simple as that. If you're familiar with TweetDeck, which is a 3rd party application build to  manage your Twitter account, you can create a dedicated column for all the job related Twitter tags you follow. Think of TweetDeck as the Outlook for Twitter.

Now, to the good stuff. I just read an article on Masthable.com titled "Top 20 Tweeters All Job Seekers Should Follow." It profiles 20 great Tweeters and what information they provide. Most of them catered to providing general career advice, networking tips, interviewing best practices, etc. All good info, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on the list and provide Tweeters with Chicago specific job opportunities that you all can follow. Below are 20 Tweeters that tweet out job opportunities in the Chicagoland area.
