Located close to the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Tao is a small Thai island that measures around 21 square kilometers, and the name literally means “The Island Of The Turtle” due to the geographic shape of the island, which resembles a turtle. With a population of a little over 1300, Koh Tao is the perfect destination for tourists who want to relax and enjoy the sandy beaches and the perfectly clear waters. Generally speaking, most tourist activities and attractions on Koh Tao revolve around scuba diving, as this is what the island is most famous for.
