(1987) Street Smart – Freeman starred as Fast Black in this film alongside Christopher Reeve. He is a pimp who has become a suspect and believes the story concocted by reporter (Jonathan Fisher) is about him as well as local police. He was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe aware among many others for Best Supporting Actor. Back when soundtracks were cool, Miles Davis the cool jazz musician did the soundtrack for this film.
(1989) Driving Miss Daisy – Everyone knows of or has seen this movie in which Freeman plays a best friend and chauffeur to Miss Daisy who in the end reveals she is suffering from dementia. He won a Golden Globe award for best actor for his role as Hoke Colburn.
(1989) Lean on Me – Freeman played Joe Clark in this all too familiar fan favorite.
(1994) The Shawshank Redemption – Morgan played as “Red” alongside Tim Robbins (whatever happened to this guy?). All type of awards and nominations here as well.
(1995) Se7en – An unforgettable thriller starring Brad Pitt drives viewers through a twisted plot with an ending that no viewer will ever forget.
