When you say "children's books" to someone, chances are the image that pops into their head is that of a picture book. Picture books are most children's gateway into the world of literature and reading. At best, they combine a great story with fabulous pictutes and bring a child's imagination to life.
Even though my children are almost too old for picture books, I still love them and have stacks and stacks of them. They are kind of like potato chips, it is hard to stop at one.
So here is my list of some of my favorties, broken into three age groups.
For young listeners
Many of these books will be enjoyed by older kids too, these are just simple and appealing enough for fidgety little listeners.
