Teen Read Week takes place this year Oct 18th-24. The object of Teen Read Week, is, of course, to encourage teens to read. But what are they reading? Teen, or Young Adult, literature is a vast field, full of just as much variety of theme, style, and content as those books available for adults. Every year, YALSA (Young Adult Library Association) puts out a list of the top ten books for teens. And the best part of this list: it's chosen by actual teens.
From a list of 25 books, teens (or anyone who has read at least one of the selection) can go online and vote for up to three of their favorites. I've read a couple of these books and am trying to read and review as many as possible before Sept 18th, the last day of voting. Following is initial list of 25 great books for teens.
