As the 2009 College Football season unfolds we can start to get a look at the top prospects at the Quarter back position. During the rest of the College football season we will update the draft stock of the top ten QB prospects for the 2010 NFL draft.

For 2010 the injury of Sam Bradford is going to weigh on the minds of many. If Bradford can come back, and play effectively he is a top ten QB prospect without a doubt. If he doesn’t there is no real way to say how that will affect his draft stock.

With that being said here is a look at the Top Ten QB prospects ratings:

1. Colt McCoy, Texas- McCoy helped his team rout UTEP last Saturday going 28-35 for 286 yards with one interception. For the 2009 season his QB rating is 150.96 and he has passed for more than 3,000 yard the past three season at Texas.

2. Tim Tebow, Florida- He is a three year starter for the Florida Gators, and has played in numerous big time college games, and won a Heisman. While there may always be a debate if he is a prototypical NFL QB is QB rating for the 2009 season is 170.31.

3. Tony Pike, Cincinnati- Coming off a game in which he went 18 for 26 for 300 yards and three touchdowns, no one’s draft stock has risen higher than Pike’s. His big downside is being from a smaller program.

4. Dan Lefevour, Central Michigan- Although he plays in the MAC, he is a four year starter, and has been very impressive. He has well over 200 completion in each of his years at CMU, and a 2009 QB rating of 135.00

5. Jarrett Brown, West Virginia- While he operates the Spread offense in College, Brown was the back up to one Pt White and may benefit from teams needing a wild cat QB on the roster. Starting in his senior year his number are good 61 for 89 with 798 yards and five touchdowns.

6. Tim Hiller, Western Michigan- Sure he is another MAC QB, but QB’s for the MAC have a lot of stock in NFL circles these days. Ben Rothlisberger hails from this Conference. Hiller has already thrown for more than 1000 yards in 2009 and his a four year starter.

7. Zac Robinson, Oklahoma State- He has consistently completed more than 60% of his passes, and has racked up 791 yards passing in 2009. He is also a three year starter with a lot of College experience.

8. Rusty Smith, Florida Atlantic- While he is attending a smaller school, he will end his career with more than 9,000 passing yards and 66 touch downs. At 6 foot four and 230 lbs he is also one of the bigger QB prospects.

9. Max Hall, BYU- So far in 2009 he is completing nearly 70% of his pass attempts and is far about 1000 passing yards for the season. He is another senior with three years starting experience.

10. Mike Kafka, Northwestern- He is another senior, although with less experience than the other seniors, he had a very accurate arm completing more than 70% of his pass attempts.

Not sure that McCoy or Tebow will become NFL qb's. Both are great college qb's, and both are competitors and winners, but today's scouts are enamored with physical tools including size, and cannon arm strength. I don't believe that either have all that the scouts covet, which often doesn't equal success.

Forget the past troubles. Ryan Perrilloux is by far the most talented QB in this draft. If he were still at LSU it wouldn't be a doubt on who is the best QB. If he were to throw the ball 40 times like some of these QB's it would be illegal for the numbers he would put up.
