Top Smartphones: Is your smartphone outdated? Are you searching for that perfect phone to give as a Christmas present? If so, you may want to check out some of the top smartphones for 2013. An article posted at Web Pro News on Sunday December 15th, 2013 outlines what they believe to be the most popular device of the year -- The iPhone 5S.

It looks like Apple wins again this year since major U.S. wireless carriers have reported the iPhone 5S as the top-selling smartphone. Of course, as soon as consumers become comfortable with their shiny new iPhone 5S, Apple will launch the iPhone 6. Rumors have already started on a September iPhone 6 release date. It is the same thing every year. However, with great features, like the new fingerprint technology, and fabulous tech support, it's no surprise Apple hit the mark again.

Another source claims the top smartphone for 2013 is actually the HTC One. Though not based on sales, but personal opinion, the article at ZDNet says the smartphone is one of the "best smartphones [the author has] ever used."

"The hardware is fantastic, HTC has done a great job updating the OS to the latest and greatest while also updating its Sense UI, you can pick it up in various colors, and it can be found for a good deal (as low as $50 with contract.)" The article also mentions rumors of a newer HTC One release in early 2014, so keep this in mind if you want the latest and greatest.

Of course Samsung still gets a lot of the smartphone glory, especially with their Galaxy line, but it looks like Apple still reigns supreme, and HTC is trying to steal some of the limelight.

Which device do you feel is the top smartphone of the year?
