If you are a "foodie" and living in San Antonio, put down that enchilada and take a look at the two top restaurants in our area.
Hot Joy and Cured have been recently selected by "Bon Appe'tit Magazine" on the list of the top 50 restaurants nominees for 2014 in the Best New Restaurant category.
It is great that our city is recognized for more of a variety of restaurant choices than the familiar Tex-Mex menu selections.
The Asian flavors are a delight at Hot Joy which is located at 1014 S. Alamo Street, close to the King Williams district of downtown. The cuisine is labeled as Asian, Chinese and Eclectic Thai.
So San Antonio has a mix of menu choices at Hot Joy, one of those featured in the crab fat caramel chicken wings. It just sounds sticky good.
Check the link above for reservations, Hot Joy is now open 7 days a week.
Cured is located at the Pearl Brewery complex on Grayson Street. This is a new and growing area of town with shopping and a farmers market on Saturdays and of course the Culinary school CIA is also located there.
Further notable restaurants in Texas, that are also on the top 50 list are Coltivare in Houston. And in the Austin area there are 3 on the list, Odd Duck and Qui and Thai-Kun.
And for all foodies, the Bravo TV episode of "Top Chef" is ready for viewers with season 12 at the various locations in Boston, MA.
