Soutron Global announced on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, that “Wilsons, ranked one of the ‘biggest and best’ private client law firms in the United Kingdom by the leading publication The Private Client Practitioner, has selected Soutron as its Library and Knowledge Management System of choice.”
Wilsons (“An individual and expert practice of the law”) – a law firm that has been in business for almost 300 years – attributes its strength to a focus on strong core traditional values; however, much of their success can be attributed to adapting and investing for the future. The firm has experienced five years of tremendous growth.
They opened an office in London. In September of last year, the firm moved into a bespoke headquarters in Salisbury.
Wilsons recently updated their computer systems and working practices firm-wide, including investing in a new Library Management System. The result is improved efficiencies in workflow practices, communications and time management.
Soutron stated it “is pleased to be one of the factors involved in helping the firm attain improvements in efficiency, communication and time management.”
“We needed a low maintenance LMS which is kept fully up-to-date without the need for time consuming onsite work. The hosted Soutron LMS meets these needs and also delivers a fresh modern look for users,” stated Andrew Phenix, Wilsons’ Information Services Manager.
“We want to deliver value. We want the library to succeed. We want to put control in the hands of the librarian and to provide an application and a service that helps make the library relevant and indispensable,” stated Graham Beastall, Soutron’s Managing Director. “The system is designed to allow the user to make all necessary changes without requiring a systems librarian to manage it. There are no end-of-year procedures or daily and weekly maintenance checks that consume effort. Soutron is easy to administer too - any change is a simple menu driven selection that is applied immediately.”
