After losing out on a couple of key players to the rival UCLA Bruins, the USC Trojans pulled off a major coup with the signing of highly touted offensive tackle, Seantrel Henderson.
Henderson, a top offensive line prospect from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Minnesota, chose USC over Ohio State, Florida, Notre Dame and UCLA.
With Henderson signing on with an already spectacular group of high school players, the Trojans have put together arguably the strongest 2010 recruiting class in the nation.
A 6’7, 310-lb offensive tackle, Henderson was recently named PARADE's High School Player of the Year and will likely be an immediate contributor for USC.
Having lost a number of offensive linemen such as All-Americans in Jeff Byers and Charles Brown, the signing of Henderson is a huge boost to the Trojans along the trenches.
Scout.com's Bob Lichtenfels says about Henderson:
“Perfect symmetry in pass pro, feet are shoulder width apart. Hands on thigh pads, elbows bent, not over extending past shoulders. Perfect kick step to the slide. Upper body vertical with knees bent and feet moving. Places his hands up to chest level ready to deliver a punch. His butt is down and his back is about as flat as you could expect from a 6-foot-8 man.”
Even though USC lost out on Deitrich Riley and Josh Shirley, the commitment of Henderson is an incredible boon for Lane Kiffin and the Southern California football program.
