Are you short on time but want to make your home feel more spring-like? Follow these decorating tips for instant springtime in your home:
- Make a centerpiece for your table: flowers are a natural springtime hit. Bring out the tulips, hyacinths and daffodils either silk or fresh. Fresh flowers are always a hit and make the home feel festive and alive. Silks are a great alternative that can be used again next year and you will not have to change the water. Look to your china closet, Goodwill or antique stores for a fun alternative to a vase.
- Bring out the toys. Do your children have cute stuffed bunnies or chicks? Use them to create a springtime vignette. Group a couple together in a corner or on a chair in the living room. Why not even put them in pastel colored baskets?
- Change the table cloth. Pick up a new vinyl table cloth from Shopko or why not purchase a couple yards of some cute spring themed material from Sierra’s or JoAnn’s and use it as a tablecloth and you will have instant springtime.
- Put a wreath on the front door. Recycle your holiday wreath by wrapping a floral garland around the wreath and voile; you have an instant door greeting.
- Getting ready to dye some eggs with the kids? Check out this video on how to make it easy to peel those eggs. Speaking of kids dying eggs, here is a listing of local Easter Egg Hunts. Want some ideas for egg decorating? Porters has some neat ideas. Those eggs look very cute when put out in a basket, just prevent food poisoning by keeping them cool.
Decorating for springtime doesn’t have to take a lot of time. These days when we have such hectic schedules, just a few touches can make your home feel more like spring.
