Top Five New Year's Eve Parties in Chicago

Hundreds of New Year's Eve parties will be held in Chicago tonight but not all parties are created equal. Here is a list of the top five unique New Year's Eve parties in Chicago:

If you want to welcome in the new year by sipping your favorite drink under the shade of real, full length palm trees while watching a spectacular midnight fireworks show over Lake Michigan , then Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier is where you need to be tonight. This enclosed, 1 acre venue in the heart of Illinois' most visited tourist attraction will feature a full premium open bar from 9 p.m. til 2 a.m., hors d'oeuvres by Stefani Signature, and over 20 bars conveniently located within the gardens (so guests won't have to wait in long lines for drinks). A private terrace will also be available to watch the annual Navy Pier New Year's Eve fireworks show. No need to bring your bulky, expensive camera with you; photographers from ChicagolandPhotos.com will be capturing the event and photos will be available for download within 24 hours on JoonBug. Guests will also receive party favors, noisemakers and wristbands for access to an exclusive after party. Tickets start at $150.

Even if you've already cruised Lake Michigan aboard the Anita Dee I or Anita Dee II, you haven't truly experienced the full magnitude of this magical journey until you've done so on New Year's Eve. Guests will enjoy a four hour open bar and a full buffet type dinner while a dj spins some of the most popular pop, dance and hip-hop music. From the decks of the Anita Dee I and the Anita Dee II, guests will be able to take in breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline and will have a first row seat to the spectacular annual Navy Pier New year's Eve fireworks show over Lake Michigan. Boarding starts at 8 p.m. and the yachts will embark on the cruise at 9 p.m. Disembarking will take place between 12:45 to 1 a.m. Tickets for the Anita Dee I start at $115 for guests under 21 and $155 for those over 21. Tickets for the Anita Dee II start at $165.

Since Bar Louie River North is such a popular bar conveniently located in downtown Chicago, the VIP tickets for tonight's event have been sold out for weeks. However, limited general admission tickets are still available. Guests will enjoy four hours of open bar as well as complimentary party favors, noisemakers and a midnight champagne toast while a dj will spin some of today's hottest music. The party starts at 9 p.m.

Northsiders will not have to venture into the depths of the city to have a great time ringing in the new year. The popular Bar Celona in Wrigleyville will host the night's best fiesta just steps away from Wrigley Field, home of the 2013 World Series Champions the Chicago Cubs. Starting at 9 pm, guests will enjoy all inclusive package which includes an open bar, party favors, noisemakers and a midnight champagne toast. Groups of 10 or more will receive a VIP table and a bottle of champagne.

Although it's a relatively new addition to Chicago's nightclub scene, Proof has quickly become one of Chicago's top club destinations. With doors opening at 8:45 p.m., guests will be treated to sushi rolls as they enjoy four hours of open bar and the area's top dj's spin some of today's most popular dance music. Party favors, noisemakers and a midnight champagne toast will also be provided. Due to it's popularity, all VIP tables have been sold out for tonight's event but limited general admission tickets are still available. General admission tickets start at $115 with general admission group discounts (for 10 or more guests) starting at $90.
