As of today these are the top five bestselling hardcover fiction books according to the New York Times.

1. “A Memory of Light” by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson
This is the 14th and final novel of the Wheel of Time fantasy series. The story concludes as the rulers of the nations gather in a final epic battle to stop a possible plot to break the seals on the Dark One’s prison. Humanity’s fate is in danger and the outcome will be decided in this last battle.

2. “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn
Nick and Amy Dunne are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary and everything is going well until Amy disappears. Nick is the prime suspect in a novel that has everyone in town wondering how well they know the people they love.

3. “Tenth of December” by George Saunders
Ten previously published short stories make up this collection of unforgettable characters facing issues like love, loss and despair. It begins with “Victory Lap” and ends with “Tenth of December.”

4. “Kinsey and Me” by Sue Grafton
Separated into two parts, “Kinsey and Me” is part fiction part biographical. One part gives background information on the character of Kinsey Millhone and the other goes into the author’s past and shows how much of her is in this popular character.

5. “Collateral Damage” by Stuart Woods
