A few big-budget films are projected to sweep the box office during the month of March including ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ in which Ben Affleck will make his debut as the seasoned Batman. Shailene Woodley has her third outing as Tris in ‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant’ and J.J. Abrams is expected to impress moviegoers with his Bad Robot production ’10 Cloverfield Lane.’ Below is the complete line up of March’s buzzworthy new releases.
‘London Has Fallen:’ “After the death of the British prime minister, the world's most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organization, it's up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate.”
‘Zootopia:’ “From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder.”
‘Whisky Tango Foxtrot:’ Based on the book "The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days In Afghanistan And Pakistan" by Kim Barker. Journalist Kim Barker (Tina Fey) recounts her wartime coverage in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Glenn Ficarra and John Requa directed comedy also stars Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thorton and Martin Freeman.
’10 Cloverfield Lane:’ Referred to as a “blood relative” to ‘Cloverfield,’ The Dan Trachtenberg directed sci-fi centers on a woman’s (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) discovery of the horrifying truth about the outside world while living in an underground shelter with two men (John Goodman, John Gallagher Jr.).
‘The Brothers Grimbsy:’ “Dimwitted Nobby (Sacha Baron Cohen) lives in an English fishing town with his loving girlfriend (Rebel Wilson) and nine children. For the last 28 years, he's been searching for his long-lost brother Sebastian (Mark Strong). When the two finally reunite, Nobby finds out that his sibling is a top MI6 assassin who's just uncovered a sinister plot. Wrongfully accused and on the run, Sebastian now realizes that he needs Nobby's help to save the world and prove his innocence.”
‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant:’ “Tris (Shailene Woodley) must escape with Four and journey beyond the wall that encloses Chicago. For the first time, they leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution. ‘The Little Prince:’ “A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to make sure she's prepared for it. Her neighbor, The Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, the world of The Little Prince.”
‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:’ “Fearing the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on Superman, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs. With Batman and Superman fighting each other, a new threat, Doomsday, is created by Lex Luthor. It's up to Superman and Batman to set aside their differences along with Wonder Woman to stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday from destroying Metropolis.”
‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2:’ “After spending most of their time focusing on their troubling teenage daughter, Toula and Ian are facing marital problems while also having to deal with yet another Greek wedding - this time, even bigger and fatter.”
