Whose ready for fall?! As the days get shorter and the cooler days start rolling in (eventually here in Evansville, IN since it's been 88 degrees almost every day!) it's time to start putting away our bright bold colors and short attire. And that means just one thing...time to go shopping! But do you know what trends to look for in stores this fall? Here's a list of some of the trends to look forward to in stores when you go shopping for your fall wardrobe.
Grunge is back! Slowly we've been seeing the '90s come back with the emergence of beenie caps and combat boots. This fall in stores you'll find torn jeans, faded denim vests, tartan print and studs. Mix your look up with blunt bangs, smokey eyes and matte lipsticks for the perfect grunge glam look. Not sure how to pull off the grunge look just read 'Channel your inner tough girl' for more inspiration.
Have fun with your outerwear. Ditch the basic jacket and the boring sweaters and opt for a texturized leather moto jacket, ultra shaggy colorful fur oversized coat or a pastel candy colored trench coat. Just make sure the rest of your outfit is minimalistic so as not to clash with your coat.
Grey and blue is the new black and white. Ditch the basics classics and use grey and blue as your new neutral colors. Embroidered fabrics in greys and blues add a new twist to masculine colors and an added edge to your wardrobe.
Inspiration from mid century film is full on strong this fall. Look for nip waisted coats, fit and flare skirts, midi skirts, elegant embroidered pant suits and skirt suits for work. Make the look work for you by playing up different fabrics and textures and mixing the skirts with more modern items like denim tops, prints and booties.
Shine on with the boldness of metallics and shimmer. Look for items made of rich metallic jacquard prints, embroidered fabrics with shimmer, mirror effects, stand out appliques and shiny floral patterns in skinny jeans and even Swarvoski crystals to incorporate into your wardrobe.
Structured bags are still in but for fall look for camera bags as well as messenger bags, hand-held doctor’s bags, accordion pleated clutches as well as boxy crossover bags.
Embrace the military style influences and incorporate them into your wardrobe. Khaki green can be a bland color but when worn correctly this utilitarian color is a force to be reckoned with. Add some girly touches by incorporating a military inspired jacket with skinny pants or even a cigarette pant. Soften the edge of studs and epaulets with lace and floral prints.
This fall shoes take on a heavy appeal. Whether inspired by the grunge movement or taking cue from masculinity, this season shoes are chunky and bold. Look for shoes that are men inspired with a rounded toe, stacked heels, lug bottoms and tied up oxfords.
