Top Disney World recreation activities this summer

Who is up for a summer vacation at the Walt Disney World Resorts? Summer is the perfect time to visit the parks and resorts at Disney. Not only is the weather perfect, there are a lot of recreational activities available for the entire family. Kids can enjoy the pools, participate in organized activities at the resorts and families can take time to rent a boat or float in a lazy river together.

Mini Golfing

Head out for a golf outing, pint-sized style. Disney offers two themed miniature golf courses. You have your choice between Fantasia Gardens and Disney’s Winter-Summerland. Both locations have two unique courses to choose from.

Water Parks

It is hot out there in the summer and the Disney water parks are the best way to have fun and keep cool. Plan to take a day or two to enjoy either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Both parks offered a themed setting complete with waterslides, pools, wet decks and lots of watery excitement.

Downtown Disney Maketplace

Stop by Downtown Disney for a day of shopping and lots of fun! Do not forget to bring a towel and swimsuit to the Marketplace with you. Yes, I said it. Did you know there are water fountains at Downtown Disney that kids, and adults too, can run through to cool off? Try it! You may enjoy it!

Sing-Along

Head over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground for a campfire sing-along with Chip’n’Dale. The campfire is held nightly near the Meadow Trading Post. Check with your resort’s concierge for specific times.

Wagon and Carriage Rides

Horse-drawn wagon rides are available from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort’s Pioneer Hall at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. nightly. Carriage rides are available at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Pony rides are available at the Petting Farm at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Kids’ Activities

Kids can participate in Disney’s Pirate Cruise Adventure which departs from the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. There are two tea parties at Disney for little ones to enjoy - Wonderland Tea Party and My Disney Girls Perfect Princess Tea Party.
