WonderCon 2013 returns to the Anaheim Convention Center March 29-31. The convention welcomes comic creators and publishers from all areas of the comic book industry. In a March 13 announcement on their website, Top Cow revealed their plans for WonderCon.
The event kicks off on Friday with a convention rarity, celebrating the birthday of Top Cow founder Marc Silvestri. The legendary comic artist known for creating “Witchblade,” “The Darkness” and “Cyber Force” as well as his work on “Wolverine,” and the “X-Men” will be on hand signing comics, sketching and meeting and greeting the Top Cow fans. The signing schedule has not been posted yet but be sure to check out the WonderCon and Top Cow websites for updates.
Silvestri will be a part of the MTV Geek Panel on March 29 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 300DE.
Also in attendance will be the creators of the acclaimed Top Cow series “Think Tank.” Writer Matt “Cyber Force” Hawkins and Rahsan “Echoes” Ekedal will be at the Top Cow booth to discuss their work on “Think Tank” the story of Dr. David Loren who was the smartest mind in the military’s weapons development program who could no longer stomach the death and destruction his inventions were creating.
It wouldn’t be a comic book convention without some exclusive artwork. Lucky collectors will be able to get the WonderCon 2013 edition of “Witchblade” #165. Featuring artwork by Stjepan “Artifacts” Sejic this comic is limited to only 500 copies.
Top Cow will bring a limited amount of lithographs available for purchase at their booth, and you will be able to get them signed by Silvestri. The booth will be loaded with lots of Top Cow comics and collected editions. Be sure to bring your list and get all the books you need.
