Top 9 Feng Shui holiday tips

The holiday season is the perfect time to begin a new way of thinking and being, it’s the perfect time to embrace a Feng Shui Lifestyle™, and what better way than to begin with the Bagua.  The Bagua is one of the main tools used throughout all perspectives of feng shui, it is an energetic map or template that helps us access the energy flow within our homes and workspaces. But it's also more than that, the Bagua life areas each have specific association, this years tips focus on making changes based on the energy of each of the Bagua life areas.

Top 9 Feng Shui Tips for the Holidays

  1. Self-Cultivation - Give yourself the gift of doing something you’ve always wanted to do. I’m not talking about things you ‘think’ you should do, I’m talking about things you really want to do, for yourself. (For example: take a cooking class, sign up for a wine tasting, visit a museum, learn a language, etc.)
  2. Family & Foundation - Instead of buying gifts this year give those you love the gift of time. Make a commitment to spend quality time with the people you love, and the foundation of those relationships will grow stronger.
  3. Abundance - Express gratitude. Give back. No matter where you are in life, you have something to give. By giving wholeheartedly in whatever way you can, time, skills knowledge, money, you create the energy that brings opportunity back to you. Abundance is a two way street and it can only thrive when we approach life from a place of gratitude.
  4. Fame & Reputation - Our reputation is built over time, if yours isn't what you'd like it to be change it. Changing your reputation means changing your behavior, thoughts and actions. Write your intention for how you'd like to be known, now and in the future. Write in your intention using current tense, and powerful affirmative language, (no wants, wishes, or hopes). For example: I am grateful that I am recognized and highly sought after for my work. And place it in the Fame & Reputation area of your home or office.
  5. Relationships - Take a look at the things, (furniture, accessories, objects), you own. Keep only those things that resonate with positive energy, and positive memories and connections. When you surround yourself with things you love, things that resonate with positive memories and associations, the energy in your home creates a strong foundation for loving relationships.
  6. Creativity – We’re all creative beings in our way and that creativity allows us to fully embrace the potential in our lives. This holiday season, consider creating an area in your home for creative self-expression - of any kind, a music room, a craft cupboard, a studio, a potting shelf or a corner study. The size of the space isn’t what’s important, what’s important is that you support your creative spirit, when you do your potential will blossom!
  7. Helpful People – Make a donation. Sort through your closets and belongings, and donate those items you no longer need, want or care for to someone whose needs are greater than your own. You’ll clear clutter and help someone else in the process – a perfect energy exchange!
  8. Career – Improve your ability to move forward by getting rid of clutter. Creating order in your physical environment by clearing away old, unused, or unloved items can be a metaphor for what can happen if you also clear away old thought patterns and beliefs that are preventing you from moving forward. Start small, pick one section in the Career area of your home to work on and see how life begins to change.
  9. Balance – A Feng Shui Lifestyle™ is all about balance. Try not to overload yourself with unrealistic expectations of yourself and others. Give some thought to ways you can slow down and embrace the season and the joyful moments. Keep it simple. Keep it doable. Keep it fun. Let go of the rest.
