Despite no one drops Froehlich's deck can still have an explosive start thanks to Burning-Tree Emissary, allowing you to drop a Flinthoof Boar or Gyre Sage. While Gyre Sage can enable an early Thundermaw Hellkite most of the time it'll act like a Tarmogoyf as it evolves from bigger creatures such as Boros Reckoner and Loxodon Smiter, oftentimes becoming a 4/5. Even if you're creatures are blocked Hellrider can help deal the last few points of damage when you attack.

There's just eight non-creature spells in the deck in order to extract card advantage from Domri Rade. Mizzium Mortars is the only other spell in the deck, which can take out early threats or wipe an opponent's side of the battlefield when played with its overload cost. One of the reasons Mizzium Mortars is strong in the deck over Bonfire of the Damned is because of the presence of Frontline Medic in the metagame.
