My top 5 picks for Mother's Day all under $50 from SW Florida

Happy Mother's Day whether you're a mother, a God mother, a grandmother, or a mother-to-be!
Happy Mother's Day whether you're a mother, a God mother, a grandmother, or a mother-to-be!
Chelsea Chavis

Some of my favorite Mother's Day gifts this year include a variety of SW Florida fun in the sun, food and jewelry, all under $50. These gifts will tell Mom she's adored without breaking the bank.

#1 Justin Schaffer, owner of Irresistible Confections Chocolate Shop

Irresistible Confections at 8890 Salrose Lane in Fort Myers, Florida, has lots to choose from to make Mom feel special. From Justin's chocolate high heel pumps in silver, pink or red to his Gator Grub Chocolate Bars (salty, sweet and spicy), Justin makes candy and turns it into edible art.

Go on Facebook and hit him up for a coupon for Mother's Day. Justin is the real deal in confection creations!

#2 First Watch (the breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant)

FW is honoring moms in SW Florida by serving a delicious meal on Mother's Day and also giving out complimentary boxes of Russel Stover chocolates.

Located in Naples, North Naples, Bonita Springs and South Fort Myers; take your mom to lunch and watch her smile! From 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

#3 Flutterby's Cafe

Located inside the Butterfly Estates, Flutterby's is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A southern-style bungalow tucked quietly in the middle of the historic River District of Fort Myers, this restaurant is the former home of South Florida real estate pioneers, Chas & Mary Wade.

Flutterby's, an open-air restaurant set on the wrap-around porch of the historical home (if it's too hot outside, you can also eat indoors) is relaxed and inspiring. Enjoy the serene setting and the healthy food served here. Choose your meal from the hot bar or the salad bar and be sure to try the original, very popular mango cheesecake for dessert. Yum!

After breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, take mom to the Mother Nature gift shop, Caterpillars Ice Cream Shop & Fudge Factory or the Butterfly Conservatory; all on the same property. Whether you're tasting mango ice cream or feeling the effects of the cascading waterfalls, you'll love the tropical air of the conservatory and its lush, natural setting.

#4 Captiva Cruise

If your mom loves the water, take her on a day cruise from Captiva Island on Captiva Cruises to various local islands. A day cruise costs around $35 per person on the Lady Chadwick ferry. Let mom decide on a dolphin watch cruise, a sunset serenade, a sailing cruise, or a day on Useppa or Cabbage Key Islands.

I guarantee your mom will love her Captiva cruise, lunch on the island and quality time with her family. You'll be happy to know that dolphin accompany the Lady Chadwick on her way to and fro; there are plenty of great photo ops when single dolphin or whole pods start riding the waves and playing in the ferry's wake. You won't be disappointed.

#5 Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Bangle

If you can't be with Mom on Mother's Day, here's an absolutely gorgeous sterling silver bangle you can purchase for her. It's just under $50 (on sale) from Tiffany & CO. With hearts and cool sterling silver, this bangle says it all. Mom, you rock!

Don't let this day go by without making your mom feel loved. It doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, it just has to say, "I love you."

Happy Mother's Day from SW Florida!
