Top 5 Kevin Nash Matches

Kevin Nash was recently reintroduced to the WWE Universe in the last month, after crashing CM Punk’s Summerslam celebration, power-bombing him, and allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in for the WWE Championship. Since then Nash has interacted with his longtime friend Triple H and the rebellious CM Punk on WWE RAW.  This legit 7 footer has a history as a big star in pro wrestling first breaking out with WWE in the 90’s,then he  shook the wrestling world by jumping to WCW and starting the NWO. Nash also lent his veteran knowledge and star power to TNA Wrestling before signing a new “Legends” deal with WWE last year.

As Nash is a hot topic with his recent WWE appearences, let’s reflect on some of his best matches with his recent release.

1) Diesel vs. Bret Hat WWE Championship No DQ Match- Survivor Series 1995
Kevin Nash as Diesel here, unleashed hell on the Hitman in this memorable match after he lost on a sneaky Small package pin fall. Big Daddy Cool was not so cool here, as he turned heel with a vicious two Power Bomb assault on Hart. This match kicked up the feud between Hart and Diesel, developed a new level of brutality for Nash to use in his future matches.

2) Shawn Michaels vs. Diesel No DQ Match In Your House: Good Friends Better Enemies
Nash as the newly crowned WWE Champion proving he was no ‘paper champ’ in this match with his one time ally and close personal friend. Even Michaels was going to feel the sting of the Jackknife Power Bomb, as Nash started a long title reign here in 1995. This match also saw Michaels break out of his status as an ‘aerial wrestler’ and become a main event technician.

3) Diesel vs. The Undertaker - Wrestlemania 12
Power vs. Resilience was the story of this match which as the Undertaker add Nash’s name to the list of 19 fallen foes in “the Streak”. Diesel bombarded ‘Taker with everything, only to have the Deadman come back.  Nash may not have came out on top, yet he had his finest Wrestlemania showing with one of the greatest of all time.

4) The Birth of the N.W.O at WCW Bash at the Beach
Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Hulk Hogan vs. Macho Man Randy Savage, Lex Luger, & Sting
This match was the culimination of a long build which had delivered one of the biggest moments in pro wrestling history: Hulk Hogan turning heel with the birth of the New World Order. The match itself had this huge spectre of “What’s going to happen?”. Nash who jumped ship from WWE , became a main event star for WCW.

5) Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg WCW World Championship Match at Starrcade 1998
Nash shocked the world when he ended the undefeated streak of Goldberg, with a definitive pin fall victory. This may have been a controversial to end the very popular streak of Goldberg who was a gigantic star for WCW, Nash was one of the few men who could end it. The match was a wild battle of two heavyweights with the NWO’s Scott Hall interfering with a stun gun to help Nash beat the streak.
