Although July has traditionally been a quiet month in terms of blockbuster video game releases, this year’s lineup features some big named titles in addition to a few hidden gems. So which of the new releases are worth buying? Here are the top five best video games released in July of 2010.
5. Crackdown 2 (Xbox 360)

The original Crackdown was a surprise hit for the Xbox 360. More than three years later, the long overdue sequel continued the gigantic open world sandbox. The more you play Crackdown 2, the more fun it gets as you level up to become an even more powerful wrecking machine. With the addition of 4-player co-operative and 16-player competitive modes, Crackdown 2 should provide hours of unadulterated fun for the multiplayer portion of the game.
4. Limbo (Xbox 360)

The biggest surprise of July was the Xbox Live Arcade game, Limbo. The downloadable title immediately stands out thanks to its unique black-and-white art style and incredibly smooth animation. The 2D platforming gameplay is another huge plus for as the creative puzzles and many memorable enemy encounters will constantly keep it. Although the experience may be a little bit too short for some, Limbo is still worth the price of admission.
