There are many movies that focus on the holiday of Thanksgiving. Some films center on Thanksgiving traidtions, family gatherings or the history surrounding the day. Here is a list of Thanksgiving day movies that tend to be favorited among friends and family. 

  1. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)

The Peanuts gang comes together to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with a feast. Lucy once again convinces Charlie Brown into kicking the football again only to miss and fall onto his back. Snoopy and Woodstock also have their own version of a Thanksgiving feast.

      2.  Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)

In this classic comedy film, Steve Martin's character is trying to get home to Chicago from New York City to be with his family for Thanksgiving. He spends the next two days with John Candy's character after they end up traveling in planes, trains and yes, automobiles to make the trip happen.

A woman returns home to her family for Thanksgiving after losing her job, her boyfriend and probably her dignity. But can see survive her crazy family? The cast includes Jodie Foster, Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Bancroft, and Claire Danes.
