We all want to know who is the best, especially when it comes to the best services to host our business online. For this reason I put together a contest on Facebook. I had people vote on who they thought was the top free hosting company in the World.
I polled 43,000+ people on Facebook for their top free hosting provider. I put up a list of over 50 companies that did this. Interesting that 28 of the 50 did not even make it on the list due to it allowing ad-ins to the form. People voted on which company they had used and knew was the best. I targeted people that mentioned that they had an online business or service as I knew they would have a website.
We went further than this. We did some stats for you to all see. Right now I estimated that there are around 726 million active websites on the web. There are 243 million domains registered to date with over 11.27 billion pages published.
There are almost 270k new websites published a day on 45 million + servers. I also estimate that before the end of this year we will hit 1 billion active websites on the web.
Pretty interesting stats huh?
I put all this together so that people will realize how big the online world is and that there are amazing companies out there that are giving away free hosting to businesses like yours.
