As is tradition, the Social Security Administration's annual listing of top baby names of the previous year was released, just in time for Mother's Day. If you go online and want to do some advanced searches, you won't be able to do so until May 16, but you can go to http://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/ to see the top 10 and find some lists of past most popular names.
There was little change this year. As for the girls, the top 5 have not changed at all, although Isabella and Emma switched positions with Emma moving from 3 back into the 2 spot after being the top name in 2008.
In the boy category, Jacob, Mason, William and Noah remained the top 5, but Ethan was pushed out as Jayden moved into spot number 4. The full top 10 list is below.
