Top 10 Worst Walks on 'America's Next Top Model'

America's Next Top Model has televised thirteen cycles with over 150 models participating in the competition. We've seen some girls that can really walk right off the bat, but these are not those girls. These are the girls that had the weakest walks from all 13 Cycles.

Scroll down for my picks for the Top 10 Worst Walks on America's Next Top Model. They are listed in no particular order. Each of them are pretty equally bad.

Norelle Van Herk

Cycle 3

In the first runway lesson, Norelle admitted that she had never walked in heels as high as they had given her. On the runway, she stumbled, but didn't fall.

Later in the same episode, the girls walked for Heatherette, and had to walk a runway they had never seen. It wound around and ended up with a circular platform. When Norelle came to the platform she fell as she tried to get up on it.

Kim Stolz

In the model's first runway lesson, they met with Miss J around a swimming pool, and he had them all walk for him in heels. Miss J said that Kim's walk was like a marionette without the strings.

Miss J exclaimed, "Kim has a very beautiful face, and she should be able to do really, really well... but unfortunately we don't have five years."

Later, Miss J had them walk with hats and flowing skirts, telling them to dance. Kim did a weird little dance, where she spun around and clapped her hands. Miss J said he was at a loss for words.

Heather Kuzmich

Cycle 9

When the girls first gathered on the cruise ship, Miss J mocked Heather's walk in front of everyone. That was how bad it was.

In episode 3, the girls visited the Fashion Madhouse, where they got instruction from Miss J, who once more teased Heather on her walk. The interesting thing was later, during that episode, the girls did a photo shoot on a rock climbing wall (see photo at left), that Heather received first call-out for the best picture of the week.

Although she started out with a horrible hunched over walk to begin with, she did show a lot of improvement by the time she was eliminated in week 9. In the end, she was eliminated due to her poor communication skills (which were negatively affected by her Asperger syndrome.)

An interesting fact:  Heather won the CoverGirl of the Week distinction 8 of the 9 times it was awarded during this Cycle.

Leslie Mancia

In episode 7, the girls had to do a photoshoot for Payless Shoes while "krumping." Joanie ended up with the top picture of the week, while Sara and Leslie ended up in the bottom two.

At panel during that episode, Tyra had the girls show their "signature walks," along with a turning move that made it look like they were standing on a turntable. When Leslie walked, Tyra remarked that she needed to push her neck out and to do the "turtle." When she was eliminated in episode 7, it was due in part to her runway walk, along with her posture and lack of model presence.

Shandi Sullivan

Cycle 2

In the second episode, the girls got their first runway lesson from Miss J.

"Help! Miss Shandi is always looking at her feet, like her feet are going to guide her, commented Miss J, after watching Shandi walk. "And they're only going to trip her up."

Later in the same episode, the girls walked for designer Carmen Marc Valvo, who critiqued Shandi, saying:

"Shandi. She's not comfortable in her own shoes. She's still very timid, and her body language is very, very introverted, and she needs to overcome that."

Lauren Utter

Cycle 10

When we first saw Lauren walking, she looked like Frankenstein, or maybe the Bride of Frankenstein. You could almost hear the *clump clump clump* of her steps.

In the third episode, where the models had to pose with the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge in the background (see photo to left), Lauren's ackwardness was just the thing to create a high fashion pose, and she received the first call out for the best photo of the week.

When Lauren first walked for Miss J, he said that she "walked like she was walking on eggshells."

Later in the competition, when the girls were going on Go-sees in Rome, she admitted she had to concentrate on "not walking like Lurch." (As in Lurch from the Addams Family TV series.)

Hannah White

Cycle 11
Hannah White - America's Next Top Model - Cycle 11 (c) The CW

In the fifth episode of Cycle 11, the girls got runway lessons in a bowling alley. When they entered, they were equipped with a pair of high-heeled bowling shoes.

"Hannah walks like she just got a bowling ball dropped on her head, said Miss J, regarding her walk. "She walks almost slightly crazy!"

Shortly after, they received a runway challenge, where they had to walk the runway wearing blindfolds and one girl would be eliminated immediately after the runway challenge.

Most girls did well, but Hannah again did not step it up, and she was eliminated. (This was only the second time in ANTM history that a girl was eliminated outside of panel. The first time it happened to Magdalena Rivas of Cycle 3.

Kari Schmidt

Cycle 6
Kari Schmidt - America's Next Top Model - Cycle 6 (c) UPN

In regards to Kari's walk, people probably best remember her as the girl that had such a difficult time with the 10" heel challenge.

She nearly broke her ankle several times on the way down to the judges, then turned over in her shoes again just before the step up to leave.

Kari was eliminated in the fourth episode, where the models had to walk the runway wearing live cockroaches as accessories. Gina had a gigantic meltdown over having to hold a cockroach, and she ended up in the bottom two, along with Kari. In the end, the judges chose to eliminate Kari, to all the other model's suprise.

Sarah Rhoades

Cycle 5
Sarah Rhodes - America's Next Top Model - Cycle 5 (c) UPN

In the same episode which I referenced on Kim's description, Miss J told Sarah that when she got distracted, she shrugged her shoulders way up and looked like a turtle.

Later in the same episode, Miss J had everyone walk with a flowing skirt and a hat, and asked them to dance. Sarah kind of skipped and twirled and threw her hands in the air, screaming, "Woo... woo."

About Sarah's dancing, Miss Jay said, "Sarah is just one big ball of confusion."

Jael Strauss

Cycle 8
Jael Strauss - America's Next Top Model - Cycle 8 (c) The CW

In the second episode of Cycle 8, as I mentioned in Brittany's description, the girls had to walk in a fashion show wearing clothes they bought from Goodwill.

Jael chose a black skin tight mini dress with spaghetti string straps and a bright pink purse. As she posed, her dress was nearly short enough to see her underwear. The crowd loved it, and Jael's outfit got the highest bid.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. ;)

Don't forget about Marvita from Cycle 10! When she looked down at the runway the whole time and took teeny steps. So awkward.

Actually, I'm going to suggest McKey for the list, too. She and Samantha's final runway show was the worst (I'm in my opinion) in ANTM history.
