Barricades are put in front of stages to prevent the crowd from crushing against the stage. This only works when they actually stay in place and don't fall over. Yes, there were easily 1,000 people pressing to the front of the outdoor stage at any given time but to actually see those portable metal partitions tip forward was scary. Thankfully the security was mindful and sought to push them back into place. The chain link and barbed wire retaining fence on the right side of the stage served to be a larger liability as the shoving throngs managed to knock it down three times before it was properly stabilized. Nobody was injured but it could have been a bloody mess if anyone had been in the wrong place. This seems like a small complaint overall, but it diminishes the enjoyment of a performance to have to look over one's shoulder throughout. The promoters ought to throw some extra cash this direction next year.
